Default Sound card problem

I think I have the Realtek AC97 sound card in my PC. I have downloaded and installed the drivers for it and I am getting no sound. When I go into the device manager it says that the device could not start.

Does anyone have any ides what is wrong?

sounds like a bad driver to me i would scan your computer using a scanner if your choice and see for sure what sound card you are running

One last thing to try go into the device manager and uninstall the sound card and then restart and see if it autodetects it and installs it it might work?
