Default Which computer to buy?

I was gonna buy an Alienware computer but as soon as I said that, everyone said I shouldn't. I've built a computer on newegg that was pretty fast but could afford to make it faster. If you guys have suggestions for computers that I should get or computers you've built, they would be greatly appreciated. I have about 1200 bucks to spend, but can go a little bit over. It can probably go up to 1500 though.

Yeah mainly gaming. But also has to be able to do your normal tasks. Thanks ckfordy, I'll check that out later, I'm heading off to work soon. I'm probably gonna need a monitor also.

It came with a AMD 3800+ not a pentium 4. I have already decided not to buy an alienware. I am working with somebody to build one. Once I have everything, I will post up what I decided and see what you guys think. Now I was going to go with an AMD 3800+ or something along those lines but if the Intel Conroe is better then I will probably go with that.
