Question n00b question... if a optical drive is a dvd writer will it be a cd writer too???

A thought just came to me...

if a optical drive is a dvd writer will it be a cd writer too??? It is isnt it?

Just a quick question.

not 100% sure but it should be. i have a DVD writer and it wwrites CD's, just bang in a CD and see what happens. let me know what happens

lol Cant do that...Im buying new computer and on the customise section before it finalises the order...Not to worry, I'll ask round - see if anyone else knows.

in 99.99% of cases a dvd durner will retain the ability to burn cds as well. I have never seen one that didnt
