Help with gimp

Does anyone know of a site to help teach my how to use gimp. I am looking for a site that will teach me how to do alot of different things with my pics...something like an online instruction book.

Also can anyone recommend some good plugins that will give me more tools and options? I want to be able to take pictures and give them a cartoon background and things like that.

I want to take this car and use the roadrunner character in the background and get rid of the garage.

This was the original pic...if ya notice I got the light out of the windshield and cleaned up the garage...lol! I need to work on all the reflections on the side of the car now.

I have seen those tutorials but I am looking for plugins and more advanced instructions...I would not even mind if I had to buy a book after all gimp was free compared to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for photoshop.
