OK, I'm looking for a good stick of RAM, but when I find the best deals on EBAY, it say High Density RAM and may not work on all computers. While some (not all) say if you do not see you chipset in the list above, get out OEM instead. Why does this matter and is it better to have high density or not to?

dont buy it on ebay.
Goto www.newegg.com ![]() When buying ram it is best but not requiered to get the same type-model ram, this will improve system stability. Assuming you need ram for the PC in your Sig, I am going to assume it is DDRI 266-333mhz ram, I would recomend Corsiar value ram 2GB (1GB X 2) or a 1GB stick if you simply want to add on. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...N82E1682014557 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145505

Sig=signature, and you are sure you need 400MHz? most socket A boards dont go that high, and its not like you will notice a difference.

I got a new CPU AMD Athlon XP, Its one of the Socket A CPU's that were made to be for gaming and that's why the stepped it up fro 333Mhz to 400Mhz.
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...ductCode=80180 And I don't want to hold back my computers potential, even if it is just a 67Mhz difference. |

It sounds like the guy on Ebay has no idea what he's talking about. High density and OEM are not opposing concepts. You can get high density RAM in OEM or retail.
All high or low density means is how many chips are on the module. High density is 8 chip, low density is 16 chip. Low density modules are still around because they are needed on older motherboards. |
