Is there a significand difference between the Intel core 2 duo e6600 and the e6700? I am asking this as Im buying a pc with e6700 processor and am looking to save some money. Are there any advantages, apart from speed, with the e6700?

nope and the speeds really aren't that big of a difference either but for some reason the e6700 is about $200 more

the e6600 and the e6700 are the same processor at different frequencies. i suggest the e6600 or the e6400.

Ya I would get the e6600, the small frequency difference isn't worth it. And they both have 4MB of cache, while the e6400 has 2MB. I would go e6600, since it still benches above a fx-62.

The is a difference, how ever it is only a clock speed as they are the same chip with a different clock speed.
E6600 Vr E6700
9% Performance increase (clock speed increase)
62% more expensive ($369.99 Vr 599.99)

So....... Price > Performance by almost 7 fold.
Not worth it.

I am just basicaly saying what other have already told you

if you bother to oc it, you can surpass the e6700 quite easily so you can get stock e6700 for the price of a e6600 (i think)

yeah but then you get to the part where the E6700 should be able to OC past the E6600 capability, but once again you get to the %9 part.

The main help with overclocking is that it has the higher multiplier.
