Default dead puter

Hi folks, first post here.

My PC is totally dead. It gave me a warning by not switching on a few times (over a few tries) and then the next day it was totally dead. No power, no beeps no lights, nothing at all.

It's definitley not the psu as I've tried it in a different computer. The psu from the other computer didn't work on the "broken" one. I can't try out the switch from the front of the computer to the motherboard because the pins are different on the 2 motherboards.

Although it's not a new computer it suited my needs - PB9533

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

The LEDs being burnt out wouldn't do anything.

I have a strong feeling that it could be the power switch. The same thing happened to me.

Open up your computer, strip the wires for the power switch (don't cut them) and connect the 2 wires together with a paperclip.

Generally the 2 wires will be red and white.

I cut the switch off and joined the 2 wires together (black n white) and still no joy.

do you know the PSU is bad? id try replacing it and see if it helps. and if it dont, i think the motherbord may have something to do with it.

If your getting nothing and the P/S works in another computer I would say you have a dead board!
