Default Problem after I built my computer

Yesterday (after hours of frustration) i built my computer but still cant get it to work...

I installed all the parts and booted it up, then i got into the bios fine
I changed the boot order to boot the cd first then the harddrive and reset it with the windows xp cd in...but nothing happened
I kept resetting the comp and it was either nonresponsive or it just had a blinking underscore on the top right of the screen and never changed

I reset the CMOS and now i cant even get into the bios...but it always tells me "CMOS checksum error-defaults loaded"

anyone know what that means...or what to do to fix it?

Yeah...i took out the battery and followed the instructions to reset the cmos from my mobo manual

everytime i turn it on i either get to the screen just before the bios (then it just goes to the blinking underscore thing) or its just nonresponsive

Don't even bother screwing around with it.. It's under warranty. I ALWAYS recommend that you don't play with it, just march it straight back to where you bought it from and kindly ask them to replace the mobo. No fuss, no muss, and you won't go grey in the process.

The problem is he built it. And then he would be taking the computer apart to take the motherboard in. I always mess around with it to fix the problem. Glad that it was a minor problem.
