Under normal conditions the System Idle Process should have most of your CPU available.
yeahhh you're totally right, thats why it does go faster... but i think mine revs more because i think i only have one fan and i got a dual core processor that gives off alot of heat.
i'll try the wired keyboard and mouse. that might solve the problem.
but what i was thinking was... perhaps another usb hardware is taking up too much power from the host. therefore the wireless receiver has not much?

What other USB components do you have connected that might interfere with the power availability to the wireless keyboard and mouse? Try taking all the other USB components out and try that. If the wired keyboard and mouse work then it could either be radio interference messing with the wireless connection or an interference of the power to the wireless station. Is the wireless keyboard and mouse 2 individual components or do they share the same station? Anyways, either way you really need more than one fan for a dual-core CPU, fans are cheap and even cheap fans will make some kind of difference.
