IE does not open certain Web Pages

I cannot get access to certain website on either laptop on my home wireless network. Both laptops run Windows XP with IE6, one of them has SP2 and Norton Internet Security installed. This started to happen only the other day, the only thing that I have changed is a
new modem/router but I dont see how this could have caused the problem. I cannot open MSN, Microsoft Sites, Hotmail, I thought that microsoft must be down but its not, also now I cannot get into the alexandra workwear website nor can I pick up my hotmail emails through outlook express.
I have checked Norton to see that there is nothing being blocked, there isnt. I have cleared out my cookies and temp files. The pages start to load, the green bar along the bottom gets to half full then just stops, i dont even get a "page not displayed" message.
Does anyone have any clues, i am totally stuck on this one right now!

You may have to recycle the router if there is no problem found with that. In most cases the ISP will have troubleshooting steps if the new model/router is something they provide. It sounds like something wasn't configured correctly to allow automatic logon. You may even reinstall everything to reconfigure it correctly on the attempt there.

The router was bought new, it was a faster newer version of the Belkin router I was using before. I have even tried connecting the old router but the pages still do not load even then and I still cannot access my email on Outlook Express. So are you saying something needs configured by me on my routers setup page? Can you tell what that may be?

You will certainly have to use the IE connection wizard to setup the assigned user name and password to have Outlook access the mail server. With that setup and working you would then configure the email forwarding from your MSN accounts. That's for the basics for getting your email.

With the router swapout you will probably have to contact the support number for your ISP there to have a tech take you through the setup one step at a time. Depending on the service provider there's usually a 24/7 support line usually with a menu to reach a live tech.
