Default Booting problem

About 1 in 3 of my computer booting tries result in a hanging screen. It doesn't even freeze in the process of booting windows but right when it turns on and the screen that displays my mobo logo on it. Im not quite sure what's going on with that. Also, it seems that i have to reformat my pc every two months due to unexplained reasons. Some days i turn on the computer and as soon as it loads into Windows it would say that "your computer has just recovered from a serious error" and just won't work the same. Im getting sort of tired of reformatting that often so i was wondering what that could be due to? I have Spybot and AdAware that i run everyday as well as Norton AntiVirus. Any help would be very much appreciated.
