Default ULTRA HIGH compression? Like 4:1?

I was downloading some games off the net and they had to be decomressed using some small MSDOS program. The compression was extreme. The file stated out being like 270 MB and after the decompression was done the file was like 1.7 GB!!!!! That is some damm high compression right there! Why dont sites who put up stuff to download compress their files using that compression format virsus win zip or win rar? And does anyone know where I could download a program that will compress data like this? I could burn my entire hard drive on a single DVD with this type of compression!

Ok in this example it started out single 249 MB file. And no the main compression format is not Win RAR. When I decompressed the Win RAR file the file only got slightly larger. It’s when I used the second decompressing program that was in the file that the main file got huge.

Now I click the decompressing program. I circled the decompressing that is responsible for this extreme compression.

The program starts up.

And vala! The compression program turns a 249 MB file into a 2.76 GB one! That’s over a 11:1 compression ratio!!!

That could turn a 4.7 GB DVD into over a 51 GB one!

Ok well where can I get the program. I would love to use it to compress data and burn it on a DVD for archiveing purpouses. The links at the bottom of that page are not working.
