Can you back up that statement? Personally I don't care for rap or hip hop but I appreciate that it takes talent to do it well.

In my opinion I just see rap as generated music, rap isn't played with instruments. Just made on the computer, the only talent I can see is the rappers them self making the lyrics. Which is almost always about drugs,sex,killing people

I hate it when the media blame killing on the type of music they listen to eg "metal", even though rap is based around that kind of stuff.

There are plenty of rap and hip hop artists that use instruments. It IS a culture that the likes of me and you don't really 'get' but you should experience more of the music to make judgements about lack of talent. I remember being your age and only listening to Metallica, Pantera, Sabbath, Paradise Lost. It had to be heavy or I wouldn't go near it. It wasn't cool to listen to anything but metal. Believe me when I say that your world of music will be a better place when you open your ears to music that you never dreamed of listening to.

Well, I am meloman, so I listen to the different kinds of music. I voted for the first and third options because these styles are most close to my favour.
Music takes very important part in my life. I think I can't live without it.

Lately my tastes in music have grown, a lot. I'm trying to expand my tastes to cover more grounds so I can get more influence and inspiration from a number of things. Different songs, genres and sounds with me, invoke different feelings, ideas, and creative ideas. (like for drawing).

My list use to be:
Rock
Metal
Pop
Pop rock
Electronic
Techno
Dance

Added:
Some rap. (the more mild things)
Some Hiphop (like Akon. He actually sings)
Some death metal
Some heavier metal
Jazzy things

I'm getting back into orchestra a lot, too.

Guitar Hero and such can be a major reason for this expansion since there are several songs on there that are more than just rock. In flames, avenged sevenfold etc etc.

There's more on those lists, I just don't want to get into details at the moment.

Hmm you better tell The Roots they are playing hip hop music wrong then, and while you're at it these people/artists as well: Talib Kwali, Mos Def, Deltron (Del the funky homosapien), Atmosphere, Brother Ali, El-P, Styles of Beyond, Aesop Rock, Cannibal Ox, Eryka Badu, Fugees, Lauryn Hill, and I could keep going but you get the point.

i picked the first 2 but mainly the first i love A LOT of songs but my favorite bands would be good charlotte and simple plan i hate rap and oldies and pretty much everything else on there
