Default Motherboard doesnt detect IDE Drives?

Hey there, this is my first post in these forums, so Id like to say hello first. I am having a big problem with my computer, heres what happened. My old computer used to be :

AMD Athlon 3000+ Socket 939
MSI K8N Neo4
1gb corsair pc 2700
512mb nVidia GeForce 6600GT
500w thermaltake PSU
120 gb maxter HDD
CD-RW/DVD Drive 40x
Windows XP Professional Edition

It used to run perfectly, and then my friend was having some trouble with his PC, so I sold him my motherboard. Now, when I took out my old processor, one of the pins bent, so I couldnt put it in anymore, and then I added this new motherboard and processor:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
MSI K8N Neo4-F

Which is basically the same thing but better...
However, when I went to install these two things, it booted up, but it stayed on "Detecting Array", and then I tried to see if my CD drive would open, and it doesnt open if the IDE cable is connected to the motherboard, but it opens if only the power cable is connected. When I disconnect all the IDE devices, it boots up all the way to a thing that says something like Looking in Pool...
SYSTEM ERROR, PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER,
and then I shut it off, and tried to put only my hard drive as master, and set it up, and tried the same with the CD drive, etc. Nothing seems to be working. I have 6 other HDDs I tried and 5 CD drives, I dont know whats going on. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

If the CD-ROM doesn't open that sounds like the cable's backwards... Have you tried flipping the cable(if possible) or using other cables?

Ok so I finally let it on for a while, and it got apst the "Detecting Array" message while my hard drive was connected, but then it said that the RAID is enabled, and then stayed there. What do I do now?

Judging by your setup posted in your first post imm guessing that you do not have more than one hard drive, so you do not want RAID enabled. Within the BIOS somewhere there will be an option to control RAID settings, turn it off or disable it if you can

Alright, I tried disabling the RAID, and enabling it, and it seems that no matter what, if I have my hard drive connected, it hangs at the BIOS logo.

Make sure you are using the right jumper setting for the drives that you want active. My friend had a simmilair problem once and it is common after changing motherboards and processors to higher spec the BIOS needs to be updated.

go to www.msi.com and find your motherboard model and the latest update file. You may need to flash the BIOS too.

Go and buy a Floppy Drive only $8 or sometihn, It sounds as though u need to update your bios, but Firstly, Check you are not doubling up on the Jumper Cables (the little Plastic things On back of Hdd and/or Drive)

This could be the main cause.
