Exclamation Making the Switch From XP to Mac

I am looking to switch my operating system from Windows XP to Mac OS X. I am running on a custom built computer built for gaming. My First question would is it possible? IS it possible to make backup discs for all the music and movies I have and then Reformat with Mac? And If so, is there any way in the world XP programs such as all the games I play could be played on Mac. I recall while debating with someone about Windows and Mac, and I made the point that you cant run many games on Mac, and remember Him saying something like MAc had come out with a program that alloud you to do that??? I dunno. Please help me out. Thanks!

No. If you mean to format and install it on your current pc, no. If you want gaming, stick with PC.

You can hack and install Mac on a PC, but that's another topic.

You can emulate MAC on your PC with PearPC and others that are similar. But it's really slow and not worth it. If you want a mac, you should buy a mac instead.

There are certain advantages that MAC have over Windows where other users prefer over Windows. Like viruses. Designing. & more. These priorities may be what the user is looking for and thus, concludes that a MAC is better suited for them.
