First off, YES I HAVE SEARCHED.
I have an 80 GB 7200.7 hard drive with an 8MB cache. It is a SATA 3.0GB/s. I want to add another hard drive and put them in a RAID configuartion. I was wondering if I could RAID a Raptor drive with this drive or would it be faster and more cost effective if i just bought another Seagate drive that had 16MB cache and RAIDed the two together. I'm kind of lost in this RAID stuff and the RAID 101 was totally over my head. I just need to know what to get without all the headache. Also, I have an A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard...this had a RAID controller built in I think... So, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

I have heard you can use different drives, but I'm sure it would be best to get a pair of identical drives.
