Angry DIVX Player PRO Problems

Hiya Forum Guys,

Recently purchased the PRO version of DIVX.

I have been having a STRANGE problem with it for the past couple of days.
When it loads, the MAIN WINDOW does NOT appear.
The sound can be heard, but there is no SKIN.

The bar appears at the bottom with DivXPlayer 6.3 typed in it.
When I double click it, it shoots of to the top left of the screen.
I have UNINSTALLED and REINSTALLED the software several times.

Can anyone please help me!?

Thank you.

Unhappy DIVX Player PRO Problems Contd.

PC Eye,

Thank you very much for the reply.

I have checked this site, but found no info.

I have emailed DIVX AGAIN and will hopefully
recieve a reply soon.

Have you ever experienced this problem.
Any idea why REINSTALLING the software
does not correct the problem?

ANY help is much appreciated.

Thank you.

Do you see anything on the taskbar where the Start menu button is located when running it? You should with any type of player ruuning or window open. When you click the square on the task bar or click on the "_" right next to the maximize in the corner of the window or somewhere near the screen everything goes where? disappears to the task bar. Yet you still hear the audio while a player is running.

It could easily be a software glitch causing it to minimize to the tray when running. Most likely something else running maybe directly causing this if you are not seeing a sneeded file missing. Look over the install cd to see if that has scratches or smudge marks on it. You could also try right clicking on the square seen on the task bar to see if you can maximize it.

Personally I have never run that player. Nut have downloaded scores of freewares and shareware alike for video and audio playback. Have you recently installed any other programs? A new firewall or antivirus program along with other types of programs even other players installing as default players can interfere.

Cheers for replying PCEye,

The player is minimized to taskbar upon loading.
Right clicking does NOT allow me to maximize.

Surely, reinstalling the software should give it
a clean start?

Do you have any suggestions for an alternative to DivXPlayer?

Cheers.

What type of files are you trying to play there. If you are downloading video files there are a few freewares that should work there. Some of those can be tried out at http://www.freewarefiles.com/category/audio_video.php and here as well. http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/ca...es/Multimedia/

For an excellent program(retail of course) that will play a wide range of media like dvds, video cds, audio cds, both audio and video files too CyberLink's PowerDVD 6.0 has worked out great here. http://www.softwareoutlet.com/Mercha...duct_Code=6774
The latest 7.0 is now available for the higher retail price seen at http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/products/main_1_ENU.html

You can look over the product information at the sites above.
