Unhappy display problem and application crash!!

PROBLEM 1: good day! can somebody help me on my problem? I have a pc that when I turn it on, it somtimes restarts 2x and the display resolution become very low.

ACTION TAKEN: I tried to reinstall the driver of the video card provided by windows xp and not its driver on package and already formatted my pc but the problem occurs sometimes.

PROBLEM 2: when i play sims 2 (open for business expansion), the application crashes sometimes.

ACTION TAKEN: I already reintalled the sims and the same problem occurs.

i have an Inno3d geforce mx 4000 128 md/64 bit. 640 ddr pc266, P4 2.0Ghz., asrock MOBO with 4x agp


PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

one. what is your Vcard? and
Two, do you have the latest drivers from the company that made it? that usually helps.

Where abouts does it restart this can help me identify if it is the video card

Do you have another graphics card to test within your machine? As to me it does sound like the graphics card is at fault.

sometimes it restarts after window logo appears and most of the time when I play sims 2, the application crashes and pc restarts.
