Hello! i have a Toshiba Sattelite with XP pro. Power managment is infortunatly taken in charge by Toshiba and this makes some programm not working as they should. Last year someone on a forum gave me the solution to cancell the Toshiba power manag of my labtop and go back to the windows pow manag. But i had to reinstall XP last week and can t remember what the procedure was. Anyone could help?
it is NOT going to Control panel>power option...because power option is frozen since Toshiba comands it. As far as i could remenber it was like deleating or unselecting something somewhere after writing a word in the "Run..." ThankY 4 any help. X |

Hit CTRL + ALT + DELETE and go to the processes tab, in the list somewhere you should see an entry named "tpwertray.exe". If you do then this is the process that is controlling your power management. A simple way of stopping it would be to halt it from starting itself upon system startup, to do this hit START - RUN - type "msconfig" - hit ENTER, now wait for the dialog box to open up, when it has click the STARTUP tab along the top.
Scroll through the list and find tpwertray.exe, uncheck the box next to it. hit APPLY, then OK, shut the system down and reboot, hopefully toshiba power management should no longer be running. dragon
