Default Questions on laptop

I just have a few questions about laptops, your help or input will be greatly appreciated.

I have narrowed my choices down to either a Dell or a HP laptop. Now im just looking for something to download music to my ipod and just surf the net and sometimes just send a few pics to the family but nothing else. But i do want a laptop that i can take with me around to work.

Now my question is what do you guys think about a p4 and pM. and what is the difference with the turion and the centrino?

thx

I would personally go with a HP. I've seen a lot of problems with dells such as hard drives crashing and overheating. The turion is an AMD processor whereas the centrino is an Intel. I cant really say much about the turion since I've never personally used one...but I'm sure its a great processor like most AMD's. I do have a centrino and it runs great.

Please send me the lint to the story of a Dell exploding... How many people were injured in the blast? What was the estimated property damage? Where did the blast occure?

Are you sure it wasn't attached to a camal jockey at the time? If so that shouldn't count against them. If so that would be like blaming the airline companys after 9/11 for exploding planes.

Have you not heard of the nation (world) wide battery recalls because of overheating? and in some cases, exploding? there have been several ppl injured, and lots of tabletops scorched. Read the news.

Dells are good laptops. Don't go with an AMD processor, but look for laptops with Intel Core Duos.
