Unhappy I've completely messed up

Friend asked me if I would partition a second boot drive on his machine. Already had C + extra partition from Partition magic but wanted a second Xp drive. As I had Partition Magic 8 I said I'd have a go.
I I took 41meg from the extra partition and told PM8 to set up as FAT (as prog advised). Left room and came back with machine asking for disc, it would not accept the xpdisc and now I cannot boot up at all.
I'm in the sh one t.

Can any one help?

When trying to install XP on a second drive try disconnecting the primary first and set the second as master. Boot from the installation disk and proceed with the installation from there. Once detected the installer will ask if the detected drive is the one you it on. Note the total drive space seen in a small box. If you plan to split the drive reduce that number to the size you want for the primary there. It works every time with no problems.

Partitioning with GParted???

http://www.packtpub.com/article/Part...g_with_GParted

The power and simplicity of GParted on a biz-card size LiveCD.

The CD aims to be fast, small in size (~30mb), and use minimal resources
to get that disk partitioned the way you want it. GParted LiveCD uses Xorg,
the lightweight Fluxbox window manager, and the lastest 2.6 Linux Kernel.

Being up to date is important! GParted LiveCD will be updated along side
the GParted source releases and have minor releases when bugs are fixed
or new filesystem tools become available.

GParted LiveCD runs on most x86 machines with a PII or better.

Download the latest version here.
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php A nice little Linux freebie that works too.
