Default USB switches; multi computers and multi devices

What I want to do is use a single usb switch for my mouse and keyboard between two computers. I have found plenty of switches that can switch multiple devices at once to different computers. I'm just wondering if the devices can be used at the same time. Since there are multiple devices only going to one computer usb port, it seems like no. But then again I know they make splitters where you can plug in multiple flash drives to one usb port on the computer.

Anyone have a definative answer? I'd prefere just to use a single switch.

Thank you.

Sebastian
