2.79 ghz. 192mb of ram
packard bell computer intel (r)

192mb of RAM is very, very, low... and explains to my view already why the laptop is slow.

Thats your problem you only have 192mb of ram and you have a celeron. If your running windows XP then you will need to upgrade to 512mb-1gig of ram and things should be running alot smoother.

around $70. Also, download Spybot Search and Destroy, and scan your comptuer for spyware.
