Default Trying to work a 7.1 speaker setup but having trouble

im using a Creative sound blaster audigy SE sound card and i have a 5.1 speaker hook on to my sound card. i was wondering if it is possible to use a 2.0 speaker and add it together to make a 7.1 setup. there is a extra connector on the sound card that is used for the other 2 speaker and mic but i cant get it to work. any help?? thx

As long as you connect them to the correct remaining ports, it'll work just fine. I mean, you don't even have to get those 5.1 kits. Those no reason you couldn't get say 6 2.0 speakers and some random sub... I did that once

Ah... Well, I've not done a whole lot woth 5.1+ system's, but it might only be set for 5.1 and not 7.1. Just look around in the setup programs you have for your speakers. Or I beleive some have the option under volume, they just might need to be enabled under advanced setup.

Sorry...the only other thing I can think of is you need some sound that actually uses 7.1. But I know that should work because I had PC speakers in my front channel, truck speakers in my rear, and a couple subs connected to my sub output a few years back(soundblaster live)
