Default My mic doesn't work after re-installating windows?

Hi guys

I just reinstalled windows and my mic doesn't work when I run skype or msn Chat.

My desktop soundcard is realtek A97C, the sound does come out and everything else works but the mic.

I tried the same mic on my other laptop and it works, so surely the mic is not broken.

Seems there is a setting I need to do but I am not sure..

Thank you all in advance.

Wayne

The setting in accessories\entertainment\volume control or on the task bar when opened can be found in the advanced where the input mixer is located. Make sure the level is up and the mic is not muted with a check mark there.

When doing some wav file recording with a mic I wasn't able to hear anything through the speakers then. But you may have to look further in Control Panel or the sound card's own configuration for this.
