Default Building my first PC - Please advise :)

Hi. Am about to build my first computer and would like to just check that everything is going to work nicely together.

I am going to buy from www.ebuyer.com and here is the list of parts.

--------------------------------------

Processor -
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=87128

Motherboard -
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...uct_uid=113841

Graphics card -
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...uct_uid=101494

Hard Drive -
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=94403

Ram -
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=64183

Optical Drive -
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...uct_uid=115242

----------------------------------------

Besides the obvious keyboard, mouse, speakers, fans etc is there anything that I am missing?

Is this going to add up to be a nice gaming system while also being good for work and stuff?

Also, could somone please explain the cases and power supplies to me? I read the "Building computers 101" sticky and it suggested an ampage of about 18-20 or 26-32, yet on ebuyer they only display the Wattage of the power supplies. So what am I supposed to be looking for in terms of wattage?

Thanks for any replies

This is a much better processor:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
You'll need to get a Core 2 Duo motherboard for it. However, I am lost as it comes to Ebuyer and prices in Pounds...Maybe someone else can help you there. It also doesn't look like they have the greatest selection of motherboards avalible.

that processor you showed is stated as being 1.86 GHz. Isn't that kinda slow?

Clock-speedwise, yes, but overall-performancewise, no, the Core 2 Duo kicks teh P4s little arse in all things known to man.

Yeah the E6300 is able to do infinitely times more work than the pentium 4 per cycle and obviously has the advantage of being dual core to boot. Also it's a very nice power saving cpu

looks nice, but since you got the OEM cpu, you'll need a heatsink fan and thermal paste.

Are heatsink fans hard to find? Or can I just buy any old one?
