Default Wireless Router Dropping Signal

You probably heard this a 1000 times but here is my situation. I have a Linksys router and when I go to my Living room which is about 15 ft away I keep dropping signal or have a poor signal and having to repair the network. I had this same router in my last house and I was 30 ft away and never had a problem. I also noticed that when I use my cell phone or send a text it sometimes drops. Could it be something in my house? Thanks for your help.

Change the wireless channel your router broadcasts on, it is in the router setup. Go up or down by atleast 2, until no more signal drop.

Yes it is in the wireless tab of the router config. Try going to this address in the IE url //192.168.2.1 or //192.168.1.1 then login tiwh your password (if you set it) If you did not set it, then try admin with no PW or admin/admin. Then look under wireless tab.
