System specs
P4 2.93GHz, 533MHz fsb Asus PTGD1-LA mobo 1.25GB ram X1800XT 256mb clocked to 634 core/ 760 memory 160GB Western Digital hard drive, 80GB Hard drive Epower 500W duel rail psu Something in the $20-$50 range. Got a few questions also. Will the audio ports on the front of my computer still work when I install the card? How hard is it to install....is it basically like installing a video card...install the card then install the drivers? Also, will I have to buy new speakers, because the ones I got with the computer are crap. Thanks Last edited by Justin_Garrett; 08-28-2006 at 09:19 PM. |

It is like installing your soundcard just make sure you have a open PCI slot. And all you have to do is go to the manufactures website to get the lastest drivers for your soundcard. If your speakers are crap then you might want to get better ones if you dont like the sound quality. |

Well...someone on another forum said the card I posted earlier was crap. So I'm looking at this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102178. How much better sound/system performance will I get with this card over the card I posted earlier? I'm looking at these speakers. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836121123. From everything I've read about them there the best bang for your buck. What's the cable that's shown in one of the pictures? Is that a cable that can work with my audio ports on the front of my computer?

Ok...will this card work with my computer? Heres the computer I bought about 2 years ago. The only thing's I haven't upgraded are the motherboard, processor, and the 256mb stick of ram it came with. I've add a
X1800xt 256mb 1GB of ram(for a total of 1.25GB) Western Digital 160GB HD Epower 500W duel rail psu. When I look at the requirments it says that the processor needs to have 64 bit support, which I doubt mine has. So will that card work with my cpu? |
