I'm having trouble successfully activating the Simple Folder Protection on Tweak-XP 4. When i specify which folder to protect, i get a message saying that the files are now hidden. The selected folder has it's icon changed to a padlock and can still be accessed normally.
Below is what the Tweak XP help file says about the Simple Folder Protection feature:
Quote:
This feature of Tweak®-XP makes it easy to protect important files - just select a folder you would like to protect and Tweak®-XP will hide all files inside that folder from Windows® Explorer.
How it works:
· Click the 'Specify a folder to protect' button and select a folder in the 'Browse for folder' dialog that will appear.
· When you folder has successfully been protected, Tweak®-XP will display a message box.
· When a folder was protected, the folder itself will still be visible, but not any file inside that folder.
Attention:
· you cannot protect the Windows® folder!
· Do NOT protect any folder that does contain any system related files which are required on Windows® startup or to operate Windows®. Protecting folders that do contain system files might crash Windows®!
· Some File Managers might still display the protected files - if other people have access to your system, please do ensure that there's no third party file manager installed on your system.
How to deactivate a protection:
· If you want to unprotect a protected folder, click the 'Specify a folder to unprotect' button.
Disable DOS Command prompt:
· To ensure that nobody can access your protected folder (s) from DOS, you should disable the MS-DOS Command Prompt. For security reasons, the Windows® registry editor will also be deactivated when checking the 'Disable DOS Command Prompt' checkbox.
Attention:
· Remember to unprotect any protected folder **BEFORE** the trial period of Tweak®-XP expires!

About it says that it may not work if some other file managers have been installed, how do i know which program to remove to get this to work.
At first I thought that it may have something to do with the windows accounts (both are admin) but i'm unsure.
Can anyone help?
