PCI-e to AGP

I want to upgrade my motherboard from an AGP to a PCI-e but the only thing that is holding me back is my AGP graphics card. I read somewhere about an adapter than can change a PCI-e to an AGP and I was wondering if anyone knew what I was talking about. I want to be able to use my AGP graphics card until I can afford to get a quality PCI-e card.

There is no such adapter, unless you buy a special motherboard. The only motherboard that I know of is made by ASRock (look them up on Newegg). They are not high quality, but it works.

There are no adapters,just there are 2 motherboards that have both PCI-E and AGP slots on them.One is by asrock as stated above and the other i have no clue.

They have adapters to convert an AGP card to fit in a PCI-E socket, but I dont think that have the opposite version available.

Wouldn't that adapter really mess up the backplate positioning on the case?

That is what I meant. I want to put an AGP card into a PCI-e slot and I have heard somewhere there is an adapter. The problem is of buying, i guess, a dual mobo (AGP and PCI-e) is that usually they're ATX and I need an mATX. There is one mobo that has both and is a mATX but I'm looking for something I can drive down to Fry's or PC Club for....

Thats the adapter I was talking about. I haven't read too much into it, but i'm guessing it only works on certain models of their motherboards, and with limited card support.

Yes, it only supports low profile video cards. (i.e. the low end cards)
