Soundblaster software install problems

my pc has intergrated sound this is just software from creative that came with my pc...so i formatted my pc recently so im trying to put the audigy advanced mb software back on but anytime i put the cd in and i get this error "utility for windows autoplay screen has encountered a problem and needs to close"..can anyone tell me what the problem might be and how to fix it

That error sounds like it is something to do with the autostart file within the cd that automatically starts up the interface setup provided by the cd. Have you tried manually opening the CD drive through your "My Computer" by right clicking and seleting "open" rather than autoplay (letting windows automatically try and open it).

yes i have an i ran a setup file on the cd but it all leads to the error somehow cause the setup is opening a file that creates that error

Right click on the MyComputer icon and go into the Device Manager. Once there look under sound and game controllers to find any items with yellow exclaimation marks next to them. If any are found simply right on those to choose the update drive option. Follow the prompts and choose the "if you have disk" option to manually browse the cd until you find the drivers folder and locate the version of Windows you are running. Once the correct file is located Windows will then copy and install what it needs off of the disk.

its not a driver..i have intergrated sound its sigmatel this audigy advanced hd sound software came with my pc to enhanced the on board sound thats the cd im trying to load its a program

Have you tried bypassing the default setup at the root of the cd to go into the install or setup folder? Another idea would be to see if an update is available. Those usually have their own installer included.

the other setup file on the cd just leads to the error eventully i cant find the software to download anywhere online

What make and model is the board itself? Often you will find the updates right at the support site there rather then at Creative.
