Default Barton core Shim

I just bought 3 AMD 3200+ barton and FIC AU13 M/B. I always Have the vendor install The cpu and heatsink, Not that I don't want to but because if there is a problem they can't say that I did it when I installed it.
Anyhow out of three two were bad. So I took them back and got new cpu, this time I paid extra for the shim. Every thing seems to be ok but they did not take the film off the shim or put it on the right way, the notch on the shim was not lined up with the arrow on the cpu. So I checked thermaltakes website to make sure that the film is supposed to come off, and as I thought it was, and also it said that the shim was not for the barton core.
Now that Iv'e given som background I will get to the question. Why is this shim not for the barton core? What will happen if I use it? Does rotating it 90 degres and leaving the film on make it safe?

Thank you , and sorry about the long post

If im not mistekn (depending on the shim you've got), those shims are for unlocking? The later bartons are locked in different ways and more intricately than before so thsoe shims dont really work.

Prolly not but it depends on the shim,..
