Default Ubuntu - GAIM Problems

Hiya, just getting back into the linux scene as i left it for quite a while. Im trying to get GAIM up and running, it opens, i add my account (MSN if it matters) hit the sign on button, it does all the authenticating, handshaking, loads my contact list up, and then about 1.5 seconds later it shuts itself down. The GAIM icon disappears from the top bar and its shut down.

It does this every single time. And yes, my internet does work, im posting this from linux right now.

Is it a new install?
Gaim tends to do that, and I think the only way to fix it is to update it or *maybe* delete the .gaim folder.
So go into the terminal and type:
Code:
rm ~/.gaim
which will remove the folder and reset Gaim which SHOULD fix the problem. You should update it if that doesn't work.
