Default Mouse problem

I have been through 3 different mouses from optical to ball. And both P/S2 and USB. Sometimes my mouse will "turn off". It would come back a few seconds later and then if I try to move it it "turn off" again. Eventually it would work again or it would stop completely. If that happens I just take it out of the USB and plug it back in. If P/S2 I need to restart. Any idea what's going on. I also tried different surfaces. The mouse doesn't use any batteries.

Your mobo could be dying, or you are just getting really cheap mice. What mobo do you have? what mice are you trying?

Hmm..., then it's not a motherboard problem. Do a check for adware/spyware, and run a housecall here: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ See if anything turns up...

I'm pretty clean of spyware/virus and stuff. As for drivers how would look for them. Do I look for them as a motherboard or actually USB drivers.

Yeah, see if Asus has some new firmware drivers for the USB. You should be able to find them on Asus's website...

Can't seem to find the usb drivers on the asus site. But I turned off my printer ( which has been on for months) and it seems to have fixed the problem. Doubt it's the problem though but hey it working so far.

It could be a printer driver and mouse driver conflict issue.

Was looking around and I found this. Could it be a related problem?
