there is some DDR2 800 at C5 but you can OC it to C4 if you want or to Higher clock speeds since that yields better performance

How much better is that 800 compaired to the 675? tons, or very small? They are almsot the same price, just curious.

well that Isquaredinc place i just found looking for the CORSAIR modules since they were so expensive at newegg but HIGHER FREQUENCIES yield better results so i would go witht eh DDR2 800 and try and OC it as igh as possible

Have you considered going with a Core 2 Duo build? For the moment they've retaken AMD's grip over gaming.

It will be a while before AMD will be able to come up with a processor to beat Intel's Core 2 Duo line. Right now (and I'd say into the next year as well) Intel will be king.

It's impossible to know, AMD is coming out with K8L in about a year, but you can't know if it's going to beat Intel's latest offerings untill it comes out. I'm sure AMD is going to have something which will beat conroe, it's just a matter of when, like you said.

While it's true that Socket AM3 CPU's will be backwards compatible with socket AM2, you should really just go with what's best right now.
