Be carefull dropping them down to 4ohms as this increases the strain on your AMP/deck and increases the current draw...can almost create a short-circuit when the resistance of your speaker coils flucktuate up & down in parrellel with changes in the frequency they are reproducing.

My floor standing speakers are 4ohm, however my amp in a High Current amp which can handle/obsorbe the impedance changes of the speaker.
