Hopefully you will that it is only a matter of getting the drivers to take rather then finding out the audio on the board is gone. But let us know how it turns out.

Scribble some notes on how you did that along with the driver version used. That can save time later if you run into another problem. Glad to hear it.

Yeah, I saved all the drivers in a folder, which will go into back up. I found a driver bundle for the mobo and sound card, which had a program which installed them, so it wasn't to bad.

A good number of updates for both sound and video will include installers where you practically don't even need the installation disk anymore. The update will often go on completely even after a fresh format of a drive. If you have a cd/dvd burner you can usually collect a list of updates along with utilities and make backup burns periodically until you upgrade hardwares again. Then the whole process starts all over again.
