The audio inputs on the board doesnt work,only on soundcard.
When I connected USB on front I/O shield still doesnt work. audio on front shield I connected with cable provided with case to onboard "front audio" connector. |

Well of course. When you have a separate sound card, why would the onboard sound still work?

Oh, so you have a separate soundcard in your machine. Yes, definetly connect to that.
As for where to connect, as you mentioned, I'm quite sure you need their I/O thingy. That is unless you could find the IO's pinout and make your own connection...
