I dunnp if it willbe the same, but either should be more than adequate for most things. If you need a lot of RAM, I would go with 1gb DDR400

No. Nothing will be the "same" as anything else except itself. [1] good luck trying to get 2GB of DDR266 [2] Regarding DDR266 and DDR400 ... see your question here memory speed

Wouldnt it be better for 2GB? ... if he's going for quantitiy that is

Now regarding this memory stuff you keep asking about.... socket 939 vs 754 ... [1] if you're getting that system why would you put PC2100 into it? [2] Have you actually bought the system yet?

It certainly wouldnt be BETTER (overall), i was just having a play of words on "more ram" (and noting that you picked 1Gb to be more than 2GB ). Overall you'll definitely benifit from 1GB DDR400 rather than 2GB DDR266

Good luck getting those to work well on the A64 board .. he might get it to work. Its worth a shot so do that first if you want to save money but dont count on it working

Huh?

You lost me

I was saying that 2GB of any RAM would be better than 1GB of any RAM, just not necessarily needed

LOL read again from the start:
- Two size options: 1GB and 2GB
- You said:

- At which point i noted

Natrurally 1GB DDR400 is better but i was just noting the quantity perspective
