Default Cell Phone Modding

OK, I have a real crappy cell phone. It's one of those outdated model pre-paid ones, and I've dropped it so many countless times that the outside is all scratched to hell. I think I'd like to do something to it, but I'm not sure what. It must remain in functional order. I thought about LEDs, but I don't want to kill the battery life, so I think I'm going with non electrical modifications. The only thing I can think of right now, is just take it apart (done before... it's been through the wash 3 times now), and spray paint the case, probably black. I'd like it to be computer themed, so I'll probably just stick a Core 2 sticker or something on it. This is pretty plain, but I'm open to suggestions. Also, I'm not against using a dremel, as long as the phone remains just as functional before hand as after. I'll try to post pictures of my unmodified phone tomorrow.

Also, how could I make it so the paint would be less likely to chip off? Should I sand it first, and is the stronger paint?
