Default Cellphone cooking an egg

I've heard that if you leave two cellphones in conversation with an egg between them, the egg will get cooked after a couple of hours. It doesn't seem like it would be true but does anyone know where this idea came from?

It probably came from people who are worried that cell phones emit high levels of radiation that can damage the brain and cause cancer.

An experiment was tried out on the UK TV programme Brainiac in which an egg was surrounded with 100 mobile phones which were then called, and even after a few minutes the egg was not even warm.

There's been no scientific proof that mobiles are completely safe, nor that there is anything dangerous with using them either. That's why a rumour like this never goes away.

I worry about such radiation, but I'm sure they don't put out nearly enough power to do that... If only two are required to cook and egg, one should be enough to do some serious damage to anyone using it.

This was on the show Brainiac... they used 100 cell phones, and the egg didn't even get warm.
