Nope,I wouldnt buy one.

Because...

There highly overpriced.

I saw a clip on youtube of this guys new Alienware computer and i mean his specs on that system were huge.

But it loaded so slow at the windows loading screen and also loaded HL2 Very slow too.

Mine loads windows faster than what his did and he had like 2Gb of ram

Is it alienware that is incredible with cable management? If I was rich enough to not care about the overpricing, I'd get one to save me tucking the cables away.

The most expensive config is like $7,000. I could build a machine like that for like $5,000. So $2,000 for labor and waranty? That's a ripoff in my opinion.

that is very true same with falcon or dell.Falcon has pc's for 8 thousand and you could build the same for about 5 thousand. And for 5 thousand i think you get like the best computer out there right now.

My labor isn't work $0 to me, but to most other people, it is. Being 14, I can't legally work (well, at least here in CT) in many places. I get paid close to minimum wage to be an aide in a hebrew school class for 2 hours once a week. So, if my labor is worth to the coporate world, say $8/hour. Say it takes me an hour to build a computer...well then that's $8 of labor. Still damn cheaper than an Alienware.

^ Good point, same goes for me since im 15,i have a job and make 8 dollars cdn an hour, not much. But companies like Dell and Alienware charge labor for the work + they want a profit from it aswell as the computer, while when you build it yourself, you dont really have to pay those extra expenses so that the company makes the profit.Though i can see where Praetor and Sir Kenin are coming from.People are too busy and some just do not have any computer smarts, and feel more reliability in an experienced company than their own hands, plus many just dont have the time.
Oh yeah i know what you meant when the thread was started ... just pointing out a different perspective. For the record I highly doubt the people working for Alienware are getting paid minimum wage

@Iluvpenuins .... do you goto KCI? GRCI?

Unfortunately it's not RAM-dependent

As far as expensive rigs go ... i seem to recall a certain spec coming close to $100K
