Default onboard sound prob

Hey everyone, I have an onboard sound problem. I have line in, line out, and the mic jacks on the mobo. I have installed the driver for the onboard sound from the disk that came with the mobo. I've checked it through device manager and if the driver from the mobo cd isn't installed then its onthere with the question mark. But if the drive is installed, then its not on there. It's a subwoofer with 6 surround sound speakers. Everything is connected correctly and my board is a 4S468L, you can go to google and find it easily. Please advise!
