I want to put a new 500GB hard drive in my computer. I was looking at a Hitachi drive. The SATA version looks better than the IDE version. If I put an adapter on my motherboard to make it accept the SATA drive, would it work properly? Would there be a problem running it as a slave to a smaller IDE drive?

Yeah, there are adaptors that'd probably do fine, but I've heard of some issues with them. If at all possible, I'd get an actual SATA controller, or an IDE drive.
