IE7 can do this. It is in beta status right now. It will be released with vista.

Free Windows Explorer replacement with tabbed UI http://blogs.officezealot.com/marc/a...4/07/1803.aspx

ExplorerXP is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non - commercial use) file manager for Windows 2000/XP. Unlike the regular Windows Explorer, it displays the total size of each folder and allows you to browse multiple folders from a tabbed interface. http://www.explorerxp.com/index.html

If you don't find what you need from the two items here there's one site that offers special tweaks and fixes for XP at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

EDIT: I just ran ExplorerXP and it was able to freely access the current Vista RC1 beta installation on the second drive. It creates it's own shortcut for the desktop independent of Windows Explorer. Try it you'll like it!

That's wicked. lol. I didn't know that existed either. I grabbed it for myself. It beats the crap out of having several windows open.

Heck yes. After using tabs in Netscape, Firefox, and Opera, I don't know how I could ever live without them again.

I'm glad to see that it worked out for you there. I had forgotten about that one some time back when looking through various Windows freewares.

I'm just taking a deeper look at that program, and I love it. It's awesome.

I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and I must say well done PC Eye. Very nice.

It's been awhile since first running into that one or something very close. In just the last few years I tried out only a few thousand or so. If they work and are freewares I simply back them on removable. Some are no longer worth anything for any 2000/XP system since they can only run 9X-ME maybe ME?
