I curretly have 2X PC2-4200--DDR2-533.
I plan to install 2X 2gb PC2-6400--DDR2-800 rams. (I am getting higher mhz ram in case I build faster computer in the near future) In theory it should work at 533 mhz, but I have Dell motherboard and system. Does anyone know Dell specific problem relating to mixing of ram speeds? What other problem might occure? My processor is Processor 15 Model 3 Stepping 4 GenuineIntel ~3192 Mhz (3.2 HT) Thanks for any reply, |

The DDR2 800 by itself would be the best move there. The first thing to look over however is the board specifications when deciding on any hardware changes to see what one model board will support. If that model board doesn't support memory over DDR2 667 you would have to shelf the DDR 800 until the next build was finished.
