ok i think we are getting somewhere with these drivers.

I downloaded the most recent ones and it said that the setup could not find any drivers compatable with my hardware so it just closed.

"The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatable with your current hardware. Setup will now exit"

So I guess I just download the previous one, then the one before that and so on until I find the right one? I know it detects my video card cause my games that do work play fine.

EDIT- ok that is the only driver update available from nvidia.com so now I need to get the hardware to match the driver?

edit, i had the same with my 6800GT,.. i dont know why the newest drivers didnt want to instal for me either.

I think I found my problem

I don't have a legit copy of windows and windows won't let me get anymore drivers until I do, so I'm screwed until I get windows it looks like.

I don't understand though cause I mean, it worked before on this pc, different copy. FEAR works too.. Is there a way to make it work without getting the copy of windows?

I'm itching to play cause ive been bored of all my other games, and im suspended until next week lol.

I was trying to avoid it because it's $150 down the drain but I will be purchasing it with my next check, might as well.
