Default BF2 Problems

Hello, I recently purchased BF:2 and the SF Expansion. The install went smoothly, and now when I go to play BF2 SF or regular BF2 it shows the battlefield 2 picture with a tank right before going into full screen and normally that would go away then it goes into the game. Well, it just goes away and nothing else happens. What's wrong? It does this on my friends computer too, different copy of course.

My pc is good enough for it (sig)

Any help is appreciated, id rather not see $70 in games go down the drain.

Did you remove your profiles?

Go to My Documents, and delete the Battleifield 2 folder. If you want to keep screenshots, remeber to take out the Screenshots folder before deleting. Then reinstall the game

update drivers? or even since you have nvidia try an older version of the drivers that has worked before because sometimes nvidia drivers are tricky with games
