I'm currently using Win2k on my laptop. When I logon...it will go through the motions (loading profiles, applying policy, etc) then next thing you know it will bring up a box saying " Saving settings" then it will bring me back to login again, this repeats almost all the time. any suggestions would be great

Almost certainly you will end up deleting the current user account if you have administrative access in order to create a new replacement. You may be able to repair this problem with the system file checker if you have the 2000 installation disk onhand. Try "sfc /scannow" at the Run prompt at either the safe mode desktop or the safe mode command prompt only.
If you want to see Windows boot directly to the desktop without a need for a logon prompt appearing one free to download registry guide has the instructions for the edit of the system registry. http://www.winguides.com/guides.php?guide=registry To review the online guide go to http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/13/ |
