windows vista RC1 driver found for sigmatel stac 975x
holy crow, i found a driver that works for my sigmatel stac 975x onboard sound for Windows Vista RC1.
instructions: 1 - go into control panel... 2 - from there click on the "System" folder... 3 - from there click on "device manager" on top left side... 4 - expand sound, video and game controllers... 5 - right click on "multimedia audio controller" and select "update driver"... 6 - click on "Browse my computer for Driver Software"... 7 - click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"... 8 - scroll down the list until you find "sound, video and game controllers" and select that... 9 - scroll through the list of driver manufacturers, click on "Intel" when you see it, then select "Intel(r) AC'97 Audio Controller" and click "next"... 10 - a silly message will pop up with a warning, answer with yes. vista RC1 will continue to install the driver and you should then have some sound. BTW: when in doubt, always look for a generic driver if you can't find a specific one. |
